Even though the calendar has not flipped to the New Year yet, the Tulane track and field squad is kicking off their 2014 season on Friday as they will compete at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker in Birmingham, Ala., at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Tulane's track and field program have scheduled themselves a bevy of meets for both the indoor and outdoor seasons, and they will once again host their own meet - The Tulane Challenge - during the outdoor campaign, announced the program on Wednesday.

Tulane's cross country team closed out their season on Friday morning at the NCAA South Central Regional, with the women's squad coming in 19th place, while the men finished 20th in their respective fields.

Tulane cross country sophomore Adam Yohanan not only leads the team on course, but also in the classroom, as he was awarded Thursday with a spot on the Conference USA Cross Country All-Academic Team, announced the league offices.

Tulane's cross country program will take to the course again on Friday as they travel to Waco, Texas, for the NCAA South Central Regional cross country race at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course, hosted by Baylor.
